  • Hopeful

    Donald Hanley

    language (, Aug. 8, 2015)
I always thought leprechauns were happy little cobblers dressed in green, until I met one for real. Blathmac was angry, rude, and smelled like an old tomb, but he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse: the means to defeat Maeve, the Queen of the Sidhe, once and for all. The problem is, he didn’t tell me what it was, and now he’s dead, horribly mutilated by someone or something that’s still out there somewhere. He did leave me a clue, though, and so the Order of the Shamrock set out to a remote island off the coast of Ireland in order to uncover Blathmac’s secret. We didn’t realize that one of us was a traitor, ready to do almost anything to keep us from succeeding.Frankly, I wish the spy in our midst had stopped us, because we unleashed a monster from its prison deep beneath the ruins of an ancient fortress, one that promised to slaughter the Sidhe and us and anyone else foolish enough to get in its way. We have to stop it somehow, without any weapons and without any idea of how to find it, before we all end up like Blathmac. But the Stone of Destiny proclaimed me to be the true Queen and Defender of Ireland and I will prevail against my enemies.I hope.
